Dallas Cowboys vs Pittsburgh Steelers 2021 NFL Hall of Fame Game Picks and Predictions

NFL Game Preview and Odds:

This Thursday Night, August 5th will be the official kickoff of the 2021 NFL Preseason with the Hall of Fame Game between the Dallas Cowboys vs Pittsburgh Steelers.

This matchup will take place at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio at 8pm et.

The latest DraftKings NFL odds have the Steelers listed as -1.5 point favorites while the over-under is at 33 total points.

Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys will come into this Hall of Fame game ready to get back on track after ending last season 6-10 overall. Dak Prescott will continue rehabbing his injuries, so you’ll see backups Garrett Gilbert, Ben DiNucci, and Cooper Rush all get reps for this matchup. My eyes will be on the Cowboys new defensive coordinator Dan Quinn and if he has any chance of turning around a defense that gave up 473 points last season.

Pittsburgh Steelers:

The Steelers had the worst run game in the league last season and they’ll need to improve that drastically if they want any chance of trying to make a Super Bowl this season.

Big Ben is 39 years old and even though he hasn’t ruled out coming back next season, this year should be his last for his overall health. You won’t see Roethlisberger for this game and according to Coach Tomlin, Mason Rudolph will get the start followed up by Dwayne Haskins to finish the first half. Then the #4 quarterback, Josh Dobbs will finish the second half out. Dobbs was drafted by Pittsburgh in 2017 and has only thrown 17 total passes for the Steelers. The game plan will be for Mason Rudolph to put up some quick points against the subpar defense of the Cowboys then for Haskins to come in and bring extra energy to these second stringers to put up even more points before the half to give Hobbs a nice cushion to be comfortable to show the world what he has to offer in the second half.

My eyes will be on how well Pittsburgh’s offensive line can perform due to the big transition they’ll face with DeCastro and Pouncey retiring and Villaneueva now on the Ravens.
