Cincinnati vs South Florida Betting Preview
Cincinnati comes into this game a perfect 9-0 and ranked 5th in the nation, but in their 28-20 win last week against Tulsa they got a huge scare. The Bearcats got extremely lucky that Tulsa’s running back fumbled the ball on the half yard line with a minute left in the game or it would have dropped their rankings even more and really hurt their chances in playing in the College Football playoffs this season.
The Bearcats defense let Tulsa put up almost 300 yards of rushing against them last week, but luckily this Friday Night they are going up against this South Florida offense that has only subpar running backs that put up an average of 168 yards per game.
The huge question for this matchup will be if Cinci’s leading running back, Jerome Ford will be available to play after injuring his ankle in the second quarter last game. So if Ford isn’t available to play then all eyes will now be on Running backs Charles McClelland, Ethan Wright, and Ryan Montgomery to get the job done in the backfield.
The Bearcats are looking to get into the College Football Playoffs, so expect Coach Luke Fickell to not hold back offensively and put up as points on the board as possible.
Cincinnati this season have the twelfth best offense in the nation that currently score an average of 38 points per game.
The Bearcats also have the 5th best defense in the nation that are only giving up an average of 16 points per game.
The Bearcats are 0-6 against the spread in their last 6 games against the Bulls and the total has gone under in 4 of Cincinnati’s last 6 games.
On the other side of the field, the South Florida Bulls come into this game losing their last two games in a row, which puts them now at a horrible 2-7 overall this season and 1-4 in AAC conference play.
The bright side is that they were able to score 42 points last Saturday against a top 25 ranked Houston team, but unfortunately they still loss the game 54-42.
Freshman Quarterback Timmy McClain had a decent game overall but his completion rate needs to improve and he can’t throw two interceptions in this game if he wants any chance of leading his team to a huge upset win.
This season the Bulls are only scoring an average of 23 points per game while having one of the worst defenses in the nation that are currently giving up an average of 36.5 points per game.
The Bulls are 2-15 straight up in their last 17 games and the total has gone over in 7 of South Florida’s last 8 games at home.
