Kent State Betting Preview

The Kent State Golden Flashes come into this game at the top of the MAC East at 4-1 in conference play, but just 5-4 overall. They are a perfect 4-0 at home this season, but on the road they have really struggled with only one win against Ohio. The good news for Kent State is that they have won two games in a row including a big one last week against Northern Illinois 52-47. In that game they put up a whooping 682 yards of offense including 322 passing yards and 360 rushing yards. On paper that looks like they should have won the game by 4 touchdowns, but their defense gave up 663 total yards including 20 points in the fourth quarter to make it a nail bitter. Running backs Marquez Cooper and Xavier Williams combined for an impressive 276 yards on the ground and now they’ll go up against this Chippewas defense that gives up an average of 148 rushing yards per game.

Kent State’s offense on the road this season only scores an average of only 19.6 points per game compared to when playing at home where they have the 11th best offense in the country that put up an average of 42.3 points per game. The Golden Flashes also have one of the worst road defenses in the entire nation that give up an average of 39.8 points per game.

Kent State is 0-5 against the spread in their last 5 games when playing as the underdog and 1-5 against the spread in their last 6 games on the road. The total has gone under in 6 of the Golden Flashes last 9 games.

Central Michigan Betting Preview

The Central Michigan Chippewas come into this game sitting third in the MAC West and in desperate need of a win since they are are only 3-2 overall in conference play.

They picked up a great 42-30 win last Wednesday against Western Michigan, but they only went 3 of 11 on third down conversions, so that will need to improve if they want any shot of winning this matchup.

All eyes will be on running back Lew Nichols III. He’s a beast and currently leads the MAC and is ranked 5th nationally with 1,082 rushing yards. He put up over 100 yards in his past 4 games and expect him to have a monster performance in this and most likely score a couple touchdowns.

Central Michigan is ranked 34th on offense, averaging 442.8 yards per game. The Chippewas are averaging 160.0 yards rushing and 282.8 yards passing so far this season.

Central Michigan scores an average of 31.7 points per game and their defense gives up an average of 29.7 points per game. Central Michigan is 2-5 against the spread in their last 7 games and the total has gone over in 9 of Chippewas last 12 games at home.
