Boston enters this Mets series ice cold, dropping 5 of their last 6, but this is a classic get-right spot at Fenway. They’re facing Kodai Senga, who’s been elite this season (1.02 ERA), but he hasn’t gone deep in games and the Sox already tagged him for 3 runs in just over 3 innings in their last meeting.

The Mets bullpen? Heavily worked and beatable plus this New York team is spiraling. They’ve scored 3 runs or fewer in five straight games, and just got stomped by the Yankees, managing only 3 hits and committing two more sloppy infield errors.

Boston’s offense, despite the recent skid, still has pop. With Alex Cora stepping away tonight for his daughter’s graduation, expect this squad to come out swinging to back up bench coach Ramon Vazquez. The energy in that dugout will be real and that’s the kind of intangible edge I look for.

I expect the Red Sox to take advantage of Mets mistakes and weak middle relief to plate at least 4 runs in this one.
